I have cherished this soul since 1972
A guitar player, a singer/songwriter, a poet, a storyteller extraordinaire, an amazing musician, a talent like no other, a true and amazing talent with none ever like him again. No one writes, sings, or will ever play like him EVER again, a true gift from God. He will forever be loved and missed. I’ve never seen another man with so much natural talent. He could sing anything and play Guitar and piano and other strings like no other.
...so clear and deeply performed that I got the feeling that I was Dan's only audience...perhaps, the background interference creates for me a kind of wall of isolation that paints the 'real' audience into an irrelevance that gets transplanted back into the Mesozoic era. LOL; Thanks Tim Hatfield for another rare cut gem.
One of the greatest ever
My God I miss Dan Fogelberg. The world could use his magical music!
One of my all times favs. So softly profound
Amen
I miss this gifted man 🦋
I love this song ❤
Oh look, real music!!! I miss that guy.
Just hearing his voice from whatever song he first starts out singing makes me cry😥 It makes me cry just hearing a song from him outta nowhere😰
How I miss him, and the days of the thoughtful singer songwriters
Does anyone know where this show was?
Timeless
It's funny that he tells a prophetic joke about his own life. He reveals this in his song Part of the Plan. James Taylor and Dan Fogelberg have this in common. It's sad actually, very sad.
One of my all time favorite songs. I miss him so much. He’s the only musician whose death caused me to shed tears. I’m so glad I got to see him in concert. He had an amazing gift!
🙏❤️🙏❤️
.
Great stuff!!!
Never gets old
Miss Dan. Miss new music from him.
Still awesome
Back in the 90s I was on a flight to Chicago and I left my seat to walk up to the restroom. When I open the door to the restroom to exit I was of course facing all of the passengers and right there in the front row against the window was Dan. He was wearing a hat. We made eye contact and I was looking right in those unmistakable big eyes of his. a slight smile started to appear on my face. I couldn’t help it. Yes he looked at me it was as if he was saying to me telepathically, don’t do it don’t do it. I just had this feeling it would be best to leave him alone and I walked right past him I’ll never forget it. One thing that did surprise me though was I always had this impression he was a taller man but he seemed a bit smaller in stature. May he rest in peace
Dan fogelberg I grew up listening to, but when I had a chance to go see him live, I didn't go! Now I really wish I would have! RIP!
...insightful and beautiful instrumentals; weaving and rhythmic; manifesting inside the enormous vocal prowess of harmony that more than satisfies even these transfixed moments ...
Wr sere so lucky to have lived.in the time of these wonderful song smiths
One of his best.

Incomparable.
Dan and his strat...
I never knew he was a smoker.
I saw you running ahead of the crowd I chased but never thought I'd catch you You said you loved me but you had to be free and I let you Why did I let you? We walked together through the gardens and graves I watched you grow to be a woman Living on promises that nobody gave to no one They were given to no one I started listening to the wind and the rain You strained your ears but could hear nothing One night, I thought I heard them whisper my name And I went running I left a trail of footprints deep in the snow I swore one day, I would retrace them But when I turned around, I found that the wind had erased them Now I'll never replace them Fly away, my sweet bird, over the land Take life for all the freedom you can But if you ever should need a man Well, the offer still stands I hear you've taken on a husband and child And live somewhere in Pennsylvania I never thought you'd ever sever the string But I can't blame you none So let the ashes fall and lay where they will Just say that, once, you used to know me One last time, sing that old song we used to know But this time, sing (this time, sing) This time, sing just a little more slowly Fly away, my sweet bird, over the land Take life for all the freedom you can But if you ever should need a man Well, the offer still stands
Dan, you're always my #1! What a loss. You're music is sheer perfection! ❤❤😊😊
Dan, I so love that voice and the acoustic guitar! I never get tiered of your music!! 😢😢❤❤
Love this!!
Saw him twice...in '77 at the Universal Amphitheater which was open air then. Extraordinary sound. First segment was just Dan & all acoustic. Second part had his road band, Fool's Gold. It was electric. About 2/3 of the way through that set he brought Don Felder up to the stage. Magical. Second time was in '82...unfortunately they put a roof on the Amphitheater. Dan did 2 hrs + all acoustic solo. Wow.
One of my faves...prefer the electric version, but acoustic is good, too.
Love and miss Dan Fogelberg so much! So grossly underrated for his pure art! His gift magical! ~everon~
My favorite.💕
So brilliant and so dearly missed!!!!
I'd forgotten about this gem. So great to hear it again. Thanks for sharing.
